About Me

A digital drawing of a smiling black girl with dreadlocks

Hello!

My name is Lauren Fraser and I'm an aspiring UX/UI designer from Peachtree City, GA. Things I love include: volleyball, going to the gym, NYT daily games, and bettering my Spanish.

Why UI/UX design? For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to art and opportunities to display my creativity. In my younger years, this showed up mainly in the forms of drawing and painting.

In high school, I continued with my interest in art, taking four years of visual art (two AP) and a graphic design class. Those courses helped hone my skills and taught me crucial concepts such as composition and standard design principles. At the same time, I discovered the field of computer science. Though I had stumbled upon CSS while trying to customize my Tumblr page in middle school (which I thoroughly enjoyed), it wasn’t until I was put into Intro to Digital Technology in high school that I learned about the extent of digital design, CS, and front end development. As I truly enjoyed the problem solving aspect of programming and the creativity of art and design, my goal became to find a career that allowed me to mix the two fields, which I now know is UI/UX design!
